I spent four years studying translation in the Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, and shortly after completing my degree was recognized for my skills as a translator with a U.S. National Endowment for the Arts fellowship. I translate from German into English here in Berlin, my home since 2015, and from the languages I acquired having lived and studied in Southern Europe in my twenties: Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.

My editorial experience began two decades ago and since then I’ve earned two master’s degrees in writing. My poetry, translations, fiction, and essays appear in The New Yorker, The Guardian, Fence, Diaphanes, and many other journals. I’ve consulted on texts for publication with Cambridge and Oxford University presses, among others, and copy edit to Chicago Style unless otherwise requested. I’m also familiar with and can edit to U.K. usage and conventions.
