Berlin Senate dance research fellowship

Kathleen received a dance/performance research fellowship from the Berlin Senate in Summer 2023 for “Embodying the Gesture,” her project investigating compositional possibilities in human gesture as related to its anthropological and linguistic origins.

Fonds Daku #TakeHeart research grant

In Winter 2023 Kathleen received funding from the Fonds Darstellende Künste #TakeHeart program for “Hinübertragung,” her research exploring the choreographic resonances of translating Meret Oppenheim’s poetry.

“The Denby Variations” performance + poems

The Denby Variations,” a multidisciplinary dance work by Kathleen Heil, received support from the Fonds Darstellende Künste to perform at ACUD and to present a hybrid virtual panel discussing Edwin Denby’s dance writings, whose words are used with kind permission of the Estate of Edwin Denby. EoFA artist-in-residence at Campus Biotech

Kathleen was a Spring 2022 Embassy of Foreign Artists artist-in-residence at Campus Biotech in collaboration with Flux Laboratory in Geneva, where she collaborated with the neuroscientists for her ongoing research into dance, translation, and poetic language. A workshop was given and an EEG experiment took place at Campus Biotech, alongside a performance and exhibition at Flux Laboratory.
